Vulvalution is a new expression that comes from the word “vulva”. It represents women’s sexual evolution and revolution. Vulvalutionaries work for the empowerment of women in the world, using the vulva as their symbol.

The vulvalution in Peru began with the project K’anchay Killa, Quechua for “Illumined Moon” in Lima Pachacamac 2006. Our fair-trade project gives microcredit to women artisans without access to employment and helps them develop their own businesses. Currently in Manchay, two families with disable members have their own micro business workshops that generate jobs for the community. This year we are implementing workshops with unemployed young mothers in Cusco.

The vulvalution revives the veneration that women received in ancestral cultures of the world, where they enjoyed decision-making powers and social equality.

Today, “Vulvalution” is the name brand of our virtual store, www.vulvalucion.org. Our products represent the Sacred Andean Vulva, created to educate, honor, and empower women. Each piece is handmade by artisans in their own workshops or by me. The vulvas come in diverse models and expressions of art, including gold, silver, and ceramic jewelry; ceramics; hand-woven pillows; clothing; books; educational material; and other adornments. Our creations are inspired by representations of women proudly showing their vulvas in the art of the ancient Mochica and Vicus cultures.

By buying a product from our virtual store www.vulvalucion.org, you are supporting the project MUSAS Peru www.musasperu.org, or Women’s Initiative for Sexual Health, which works to empower women and the LGTBI community. Five percent of each sale is donated to MUSAS Peru to make videos and offer free workshops on sexual health to those communities most in need, including LGTBI individuals, women in prison, indigenous communities, and rural populations. In their first six months, MUSAS Perú has produced 8 videos and provided 7 workshops on issues of sexual health for diverse communities.
